Hand
feed the PELAGIC SPECIES in the waters off MONTAUK POINT, LONG ISLAND.
Spring and fall is a hands on experience, viewing the many species
that pass within easy range of the WINDY.
I've been watching
the PELAGICS for more than 25 years. Ever since a friend of mine,
Jim Ash, a Master Birder handed me a copy of Petersen's Field Guide
and asked me to tell him what I saw offshore. This opened up a whole
new world to me. I always knew that all the birds I saw out there
weren't just Sea Gulls. I just didn't know what species they were.
Since then, I've amassed quite a list for a guy that doesn't do
any world traveling.
Every year while
chumming offshore we see hundreds of SHEARWATERS, PETRALS, JAEGERS,
GULLS, TERNS & GANNETS at arms length, and every once in a while
we get a real exotic.
The WINDY can
take you quickly, comfortably and safely to these species. Remember
from the time the boat leaves the dock to the time we return it's
an experience you'll always remember.
